The project

Echo Neutra is an Italian brand of Swiss-made mechanical watches, founded by Nicola Callegaro and Cristiano Quaglia and based in Veneto. The brand designs and produces timepieces characterised by Italian design, artisan quality, and Swiss-made automatic or manual movements. Their aesthetic is heavily inspired by a sporting spirit and Alpine landscapes, which is reflected in the names of their collections.

 

Echo Neutra distinguishes itself through attention to detail, material durability, and a timeless aesthetic. Their collections – such as 1956, Averau, Cristallo, and Rivanera are highly regarded for their balance of professional functionality and stylistic emotion.

Migration to Shopify and Bespoke E-commerce Experience

For echo/neutra, an Italian watch micro-brand with a strong aesthetic identity, we designed and developed a new Shopify e-commerce store. This platform enables the client to support internationalisation, growth, and product storytelling.

 

The objective was not merely to migrate a platform, but to build a digital experience consistent with the brand’s positioning, highlighting the design, materials, and technical details of the watches.

From migration to scalability

The project began with a complete migration from WooCommerce to Shopify, managing:

  • Importing products with their respective variants.
  • Migration of orders and customers.
  • Data integrity verification.
  • Functionality testing in a safe environment.
  • Go-live, ensuring the store’s operational continuity.

 

The transition to Shopify provided echo/neutra with a more stable, high-performance platform ready for multi-market management, while reducing back-end technical complexity and eliminating web-server management.

Product-Centric Approach

The heart of the project involved developing a series of custom front-end features designed to guide the user through product discovery.

A Highly Configurable Product Page

The product page was designed as an advanced configuration tool:

  • Variants by strap type with dynamic association and strap size selection.
  • Combined variant management without compromising clarity or usability.

On a visual level, interactive sections dedicated to the product were integrated:

  • “Before/after effect” to demonstrate features such as night-time luminosity.
  • 3D product renders, generated via images and controlled by a cursor, to explore the watch from different angles.

The result is a page that does not just sell, but narrates the product and enhances its details.

Collections and Sub-collections: A Flexible Structure

We developed advanced collection management to overcome a structural limit of Shopify: the lack of a native hierarchy between collections. By using metafields, we defined the ability to associate related sub-collections with each main collection, creating a hierarchical relationship.

 

This approach allows the display of a set of “child” collections within a main collection, maintaining order, clarity, and consistency in navigation. The result is a modular and scalable structure capable of presenting complex product lines without compromising the user experience.

Interactive Store Locator

We developed a dedicated, map-based retailer search engine featuring interactive mapping. By leveraging geolocation technology, the tool allows users to seamlessly identify physical touchpoints based on their real-time position, bridging the gap between digital discovery and offline purchase.

Reviews & Press Hub (Social Proof)

A curated editorial space integrating video testimonials and press clippings directly into the user journey. This section is strategically positioned to bolster brand authority and provide the necessary social proof to streamline the customer’s decision-making process.

Promotional Framework: Initial Setup

We managed the initial architecture of the discounting engine, configuring promotional logic aligned with the brand’s commercial strategy. The system is built for scalability, allowing for the seamless rollout of future campaigns without the need for further technical intervention.

Multi-Language & Multi-Market Infrastructure

To support echo/neutra’s international growth, the store was built with a robust cross-border framework, featuring:

  • Localized content management across multiple languages;

  • Strategic market-specific configurations;

  • Adaptive UX tailored to the user’s geographical location.

This provides a solid foundation for global business expansion while maintaining absolute brand consistency and operational control.

A bespoke Shopify e-commerce solution, engineered to scale alongside the brand, seamlessly blending high performance, operational flexibility, and a premium user experience (UX).
