“Christmas in Padua” is the traditional event organised by the Department of Commerce and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Padua that takes place every year in the city during the Christmas period, consisting of markets, shows and events for all ages. The agency was entrusted with press and digital communication for two consecutive years, in 2018 and 2019 respectively. During these two editions we developed the theme “A City of Stars”, combining Christmas lights and elements characterising the history of the city, such as the stars observed by Galileo and the starry vault painted by Giotto in the Scrovegni Chapel.
Thanks to an effective and tailor-made communication strategy, we increased participant engagement as well as traffic to the website and social channels.

Creativity and graphic design
The agency wanted to create a visual that would represent the multitude of elements that make the Christmas period so unique and special and all the situations and sensations that characterise Christmas in Padua, choosing to commission the Veneto artist Ale Giorgini to create the work. The author’s illustration, an interweaving of events and suggestions that form a unique and unrepeatable dimension of magic and serenity, was declined in all web, press and advertising materials created by the team to communicate and promote the event, with the aim of creating a new corporate image (logo and visual content) and transferring the values of “Christmas in Padua”.
Press and web declination
After working on the creative studio, the official portal www.nataleapadova.it was completely redesigned: the site, recreated in two languages (Italian and English) with the aim of boosting tourist promotion in Padua, was optimised for mainly mobile use and for quick and intuitive use of content and the events calendar. All communication materials and creativity for “Christmas in Padua” were then realised: press folders, roll-ups, maps with the main attractions, shopping bags for shopkeepers, and advertising (billboards and press releases).
An absolute novelty for Padua, during the second edition, the tram for the first time was dyed red with illustrations by Ale Giorgini. The operation achieved a triple objective: to publicise the event, to amaze and excite citizens and tourists, and to encourage people to use the means of transport to move around the city.
Photo, video and content production
To inform and update citizens and tourists on the events scheduled, for the entire duration of the festival, SAY produced text content in Italian and English for publication on the website accompanied by over 650 photos (including post-production and copyright) covering 76 events.
Commercials
For both editions, commercials with a great emotional impact were created to tell the Christmas spirit of Padua. Starting with the visuals, the commercials were filmed in the iconic locations of Christmas in Padua, conveying the message through the web, the main television stations in the area, and the city’s cinemas, with the aim of reaching a broader target audience and effectively responding to the appeal of the event.
Social Media Management
For the entire duration of the event, the agency was responsible for providing information and updates on the rich calendar of events, concerts and attractions through the management of the official Facebook page, with the creation of informative and creative posts and specific events that made it possible to reach and involve a wider audience.
